StackUp Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-05
StackUp does not include any analytics or behaviour-tracking SDKs. It does send crash reports to Sentry — only when the app errors or crashes — so we can fix the bugs that affect real players; those reports contain a stack trace, app and OS version, device model, and a vendor-scoped device identifier that is not linked to your name or Game Center account. The app uses Apple Game Center to identify you to opponents, Unity Gaming Services to coordinate matches and remember your win/loss history across devices, and Apple's StoreKit to process in-app purchases. If you have rewarded ads enabled, the ad SDK collects the device identifiers needed to serve ads (subject to your iOS tracking permission). You can permanently delete everything from inside the app at any time.
What StackUp stores on your device
The following are kept locally and never sent off your device:
- Your cached display name and a copy of your local avatar.
- Match history — opponent name, scores, end reason, and the rules used for each completed match.
- Suspended (paused) multiplayer matches so you can resume them later.
- Cached opponent profile photos fetched from Game Center.
- Your saved game rules (stock size, wild count, etc.) and a recent-opponents list used by the lobby.
- Counters for the daily free-match cap and any rewarded-ad bonuses you have earned today.
What StackUp stores in Unity Gaming Services Cloud Save
Unity Gaming Services (UGS) is a Unity-operated cloud backend. StackUp creates an anonymous UGS player record on first launch and, if you are signed in to Game Center, links that record to your Game Center identity so your data follows you across devices. Under your UGS player record, StackUp stores:
- Opponent roster and lifetime stats. The Game Center display names and identifiers of opponents you have played, plus your own aggregate wins, losses, net score, best win, and total absolute score.
- Presence heartbeat. A timestamp of when you were last online, readable by other StackUp players so they can see whether you are reachable for a multiplayer invite.
- Recent declined-invite code. The most recent session code you declined, used to suppress duplicate invite prompts.
- Premium entitlement. A flag indicating whether you have purchased the premium unlock, plus the purchase timestamp.
- Monetization cap counter. A small record of how many free matches you have started today, used to enforce the daily cap fairly across reinstalls.
StackUp does not have a server of its own. UGS is the only backend involved, and the data above is the only data StackUp writes there.
Ranked leaderboards
If you play Quick or Classic ranked matches, StackUp submits your display name and current rating to that mode's UGS Leaderboard after each match. Unlike the roster and stats above — which are only ever shown to opponents you've actually played — your leaderboard entry (display name, rating, and rank) is visible to any StackUp player who opens the leaderboard view, not just people you've matched against.
Third-party services StackUp uses
- Apple Game Center. Used for authentication, display names, profile photos, and friend invites. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Unity Gaming Services (Authentication, Cloud Save, Sessions, Relay, Leaderboards). Used to back the items listed above. Subject to Unity's Privacy Policy.
- Apple StoreKit, via Unity In-App Purchasing. Used to process the premium unlock. Apple handles the transaction; StackUp only stores the resulting entitlement flag.
- Unity LevelPlay (ironSource). The rewarded-ad SDK that powers the optional "watch an ad for an extra match" feature. If you choose to watch an ad, the SDK collects device identifiers needed to serve and attribute the ad. This is subject to your iOS App Tracking Transparency choice — if you decline the prompt, only non-personalized ads are served. Subject to the ironSource Privacy Policy.
- Sentry. The crash-reporting service that lets us see when the app crashes for someone, so we can fix it. Each report contains the managed (C#) and native stack trace, breadcrumbs of the app's own log messages from the seconds before the crash, app version, OS version, device model, and the Apple-provided IDFV — an installation identifier that is scoped to StackUp and not linked to your name or Game Center identity. No analytics, no behaviour events, no advertising signals. Reports are sent only when the app encounters an error or a hard crash. Hosted in Sentry's EU region. Subject to the Sentry Privacy Policy.
What StackUp does not do
To be clear about what is not collected:
- StackUp does not include any analytics or behaviour-tracking SDK. The app does not measure how you tap, how long you play, what menus you open, or which features you use. Sentry, listed above, is used only for crash reports — it only fires when the app errors or crashes, never on routine sessions.
- StackUp does not ask for an email address or any account credentials of its own — sign-in is handled entirely by Game Center on your device.
- StackUp does not sell or share your data with anyone. The third-party services listed above receive only the data described in this policy and only for the specific purpose stated.
Deleting your data
You can delete everything at any time from Settings → Delete my account and data inside the app. The deletion does the following in one action:
- Removes every Cloud Save record listed above (roster, lifetime stats, presence, declined invite, premium entitlement, monetization cap).
- Deletes your UGS player record itself, so the next launch creates a fresh anonymous identity.
- Clears all on-device data: match history, suspended matches, opponent roster, cached avatars, saved settings, and monetization counters.
Deletion is immediate and not reversible. After it completes, the app closes; reopening it produces a clean first-launch state.
If you cannot reach the in-app deletion screen, email us at info@stackupcardgame.com with your Game Center display name and the approximate date you first played, and we will do our best to locate and delete the record on our side.
Children
StackUp is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has used the app on your device, the most reliable way to remove their data is to open StackUp on that device and use Settings → Delete my account and data. If you cannot access the device, contact us at the address below with the child's Game Center display name and approximately when they began playing; we will use that information to try to locate and delete the associated record, though we cannot guarantee a match without an identifier we can look up.
Data retention
The data listed under "Cloud Save" is retained for as long as you keep using the app. It is removed either when you use the in-app deletion flow, or when Unity Gaming Services prunes inactive accounts under their own retention policy.
Crash reports sent to Sentry are retained for the duration Sentry applies to the StackUp project under its own retention schedule (currently around 30–90 days for individual events, depending on the plan); after that they are automatically removed on Sentry's side. The in-app deletion flow does not retroactively clear past crash reports, because they are not linked to your Game Center or UGS identity.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in any way that affects what is collected or how it is used, the "Last updated" date above will change and a notice will be shown the next time the app launches.
